Respiratory Systems

The organs and processes involved here are fairly easy to understand! Organs include the nose, nasal cavity, sinuses, pharynx (nasopharynx, oropharynxand laryngopharynx), larynx (containing the vocal cords and protected by the epiglottis), trachea, bronchial tree, and lungs. Muscles, most importantly the diaphragm, create negative pressure (by increasing lung volume) to draw air into the lungs.
